The Fall: Ersatz GB - Taking Off (Track 2)
I have no idea what this song is about but it has the line (I think) “you never told me Simon, what the 40 carrots were for?” and it has the best guitar line in a The Fall song since, geeze, I don’t know, “Janet, Johnny and James”.
And it has grade-A MES ranting on it. The last few albums were fine, but with maybe the sole exception of the climax of “Bury Pts. 1 + 3” off the last album, MES seemed like he was kinda tired and was done with the “how many words can I fit in these 4 bars” style of delivery. But geeze, if the rest of the album half this good, this will be the first album of theres I’m excited about since maybe “Fall Heads Roll”?
